Canco General Contractors, Inc. was formed in early 1986, when Canco President John D. Prahl, Vice President Kurt L. Denzel, and two area business leaders as investment partners, acquired the Tampa office of the Midwest based Carl A. Nelson Company. Completed projects range from twenty construction rental stores for a national chain in four southeastern states, more than forty new auto dealerships and the expansion of another twenty, to thirty church projects, a 220,000 SF roof tile manufacturing plant, 300,000 square feet of buildings at the Florida State Fair, and numerous professional and manufacturing buildings.
